Thomson Reuters in association with the Securities and Commodities Authority are pleased to host the 9th GCC Regulators Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Summit will take place under the patronage of H.E Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy on January 26 & 27, 2015.
2014 marked a record year in terms of fines and sanctions issued by the international regulators to financial organisations. This has sent ripples through the global financial community and the Middle East has been no different. Building a strong compliance culture and regulatory network is critical when it comes to effectively addressing cross-border issues, through obtaining, and sharing information. This cross-border cooperation is essential as corporate governance becomes more complex due to increased regulatory requirements and greater regulatory scrutiny.
The 9th GCC Regulators Summit will present the perfect opportunity for the regulatory authorities, governments and the governance, risk and compliance (GRC) community to meet and discuss best practises.
The Summit will be attended and supported by regional and international regulators, financial services professionals, law practitioners, advisors and market participants. It will feature a series of panel discussions, breakout sessions, research presentations and live debates covering topical challenges faced by the supervisory authorities and the GRC community.
The 2014 Summit attracted over 500 pre-qualified delegates from the GRC community, in addition to regional and international regulators and industry practitioners.
