Tourist visas, which are valid for 2 weeks, are issued upon arrival at the Immigration Department at Bahrain International Airport at the cost of BD 5 per person. Citizens of the United Kingdom receive upon request a 3 – month visa on arrival, alternately they will be give 2 weeks. Citizens of the following countries can obtain a visa upon arrival: Andorra, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic Of Ireland, Russia, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, U.S.A. and Vatican City. Citizens of nationalities not mentioned above can apply for Business visas, which require a minimum of seven (7) working days (excluding public holidays) to obtain. Clear passport copies are required for the visa application and an invitation letter from a company in Bahrain. Visa processing fee of BD30-(which is non refundable), valid for seven (7) days upon date of entry to Bahrain, apply per application. Please note processing can exceed 7 days pending public holidays and weekends (Friday and Saturday) in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Disembarkation cards for Bahrain non-residents are required to complete before the immigration point.

Passengers can collect the disembarkation cards from Gulf Air check in counters. The cards are also available at the Arrivals area before Immigration point/counter at Bahrain International Airport.

This does not apply to passengers holding valid Bahrain resident permits.

From Bahrain International Airport

  1. From Bahrain International Airport, take the right exit at the first roundabout.
  2. Proceed straight through two sets of traffic lights up to the Sheikh Hamad Bridge.
  3. Continue straight past the Diplomatic Area, through the Sheikh Hamad causeway.
  4. Make an exit at Seef area.
  5. Proceed straight ahead to hotel roundabout where you will take your next right for the entrance to The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa.


Transportation from the airport by private hotel van is available at BD25 one way (up to a maximum of five persons per car). Limousine service is available at BD22 per way (up to a maximum of three persons per car). Please book by calling the hotel or requesting a service.
